3 Days Zagora Desert Tour

Overview

This 3-Day Berber Culture Trip will allow you to experience some of the culture of the Berber Nomads and the Moroccan culture at large. Experience wonderful sceneries, historical Kasbahs and a camel trek and overnight stay in the Sahara Desert.

What to Expect

Day 1: Marrakech –> Ait Ben Haddou –> Ouarzazate

Pick-up at Hotel or Riad in Marrakech after breakfast. Travel through Tichka to Quarzazate, enjoy the fascinating sceneries of the Berber villages from the Atlas Mountain. Continue to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in the 17th Century. Have lunch at a local restaurant near the Kasbah, and then continue your adventure to Zagora. Continue traveling through the Draa Valley by the Tizi N’tanifeft and the village of Agdz , see the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs and the largest palm grove of Morocco. Overnight accommodations at your Hotel or Riad, Half-Board (HB).

Day 2: Ouarzazate –> Zagora –> M'hamidh

Enjoy breakfast at your Hotel or Riad before embarking on a day trip to Zagora, a town in the Draa River Valley. For centuries this valley served as a link between the Sahara and northern Morocco for the trading caravan routes that passed by the river. Sit back and soak up the views on the drive through beautiful small Moroccan towns and Berber villages along the river, including Agdz and Zagora. Arriving in M'hamid in the evening, enjoy a 4*4 ride as you head to a Berber campsite. Go for a sunset camel ride and before you will have dinner and stay overnight in traditional tents for a real desert experience. Overnight: Berber campsite in M'hamid Day

Day 3: M'hamid –> Zagora –> Ouarzazate

Have breakfast at your camp site before heading to the sand dunes of Erg Lihoudi and watch the sunrise over the Sahara Desert. Start your trip back to Marrakech, on the way, stop in Ouarzazate for lunch, some free time and a guided visit of the Oscar Studios. Arrive back in Marrakech at your hotel.
